Position Overview

The Role

Strategy that stays connected to the work.

The Performance Marketing Strategist helps turn business context, market conditions, paid-media performance, and lead outcomes into disciplined acquisition direction.

This is not a role built around passing reports between teams. You will examine what the market is doing, what the campaigns are producing, what happens after the click, and which decision has the best chance of improving the business result.

What You’ll Own

A clear line from question to recommendation.

  • Translate client goals and market economics into a practical acquisition strategy.
  • Connect channel performance with conversion behavior and lead-quality evidence.
  • Identify the decision that matters now — and the evidence needed to make the next one.
  • Communicate recommendations in language a business owner or operating team can use.

What Success Looks Like

The work becomes easier to see, explain, and improve.

  1. 01

Plans connect budget to intent, market conditions, and a credible business outcome.

  2. 02

Optimization responds to lead quality and conversion evidence, not platform activity alone.

  3. 03

Clients and teammates understand what changed, why it changed, and what should be learned next.

Responsibilities

Use the full performance picture.

  • Develop and refine paid-acquisition strategies across relevant search and media channels.
  • Review campaign, landing-page, call, form, and lead-outcome evidence together.
  • Partner with design, development, intelligence, and client-facing contributors.
  • Build useful briefs, testing priorities, forecasts, and performance narratives.
  • Surface weak assumptions early and recommend a better path with appropriate context.
  • Improve the operating system around the work, not only the campaign in front of you.

Qualifications

Strong fundamentals. Useful curiosity.

  • Experience turning paid-media or performance-marketing data into strategic decisions.
  • Working knowledge of conversion paths, measurement, attribution limits, and lead quality.
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including the ability to explain tradeoffs.
  • Comfort working through incomplete information without pretending uncertainty is certainty.
  • A record of taking ownership and following decisions through to their outcome.

Preferred Qualifications

Helpful depth.

  • Hands-on experience with Google Ads, Microsoft Ads, or comparable intent-led platforms.
  • Experience with service businesses, considered purchases, or lead-generation programs.
  • Familiarity with call tracking, CRM feedback, analytics, and practical experimentation.
  • Experience collaborating on landing pages, websites, or conversion-focused creative.

How We Work

Performance. Judgment. Accountability.

We expect the person closest to a decision to understand the evidence behind it, make the judgment with appropriate context, and remain accountable for what the work produces. Intelligent tools support that standard; they do not lower it.
